What. A. Year!
2020 you have been, and are continuing to be, a massive pain in the butt!
For the wedding and events industry 2020 has been catastrophic. Many self-employed catering and entertainment businesses having to close their doors or hatches as the work disappeared into oblivion. Musicians, actors, lighting and sound technicians, have been left behind and many venues are starting to close their doors permanently. Festivals were cancelled, local events were in the “too hard to organise with so many covid restrictions in place” bracket and don’t get me started on the Hokey Cokey routine for weddings which have been chopped and changed continuously bringing turmoil and stress to what is already for some a highly emotive time. It’s been a pretty awful year so far and my heart goes out to everyone who has fallen into the cracks and are finding life pretty damn miserable right now.
Business has had to restructure and adapt to the constant changes and here at Toots we know we have been extremely lucky to be able to trade from our home garden. At the start of lockdown in March, our vintage van was sitting in it’s hibernation spot in Wrington and looking a little lost with all the events cancelling through the year. So we decided that there was no point in it wallowing empty at the storage unit, it may as well be full of treats and set up outside our home. The local council agreed and a street trade licence was put in place. The support we received from the local community and surrounding villages has been fantastic and we are so grateful to have remained sustainable through this topsy turvy time so far.
So, we want to pay it forward and bring some sunshine to a wedding couple that has been affected by the current situation. The compeition is aimed at couples who had a wedding booked in 2020 but have had to reschedule it to another date and are only permitted to have up to 30 guests attend the wedding. The competition is being run from our Facebook page so head on over and enter!

Green Jungle Wall
This is a quality green wall which measures 2m x 2m. The plants used in the green wall are of high quality and can be set up inside or outside a venue. You can use it for a multitude of different displays such as a backdrop for your top table, a backdrop for your photobooth pictures, display for your wedding cake and food or for a funky looking gin bar display! If you want to add a splash of colour you can add some flowers to match your wedding theme, fairy lights or use one of our neon signs below (which is also included in the compeition).
To complement the green jungle wall we have a neon sign that says “CRAZY IN LOVE”. Which of course is EXACTLY what you are! You can add a pop of colour with some flowers or ribbons to create a stunning display. We also have a neon sign that says I LICKED IT SO IT’S MINE which is perfect on the green wall when used as a back drop for our ice cream freezer display or elsewhere if you want to be a bit tongue in cheek!
Ice Cream Freezer
We have a small freezer which has been clad in reclaimed wood. We will add some tubs of ice cream and spoons so your guests can help themselves to a scrummy Italian ice cream on the day. There will be enough for up to 30 guests. This looks fab infront of our Green Wall and Neon “I Licked It So It’s Mine Sign”.
Ice Cream Toppings
What’s more, we will also bring our “PImp your Ice Cream Sunday Table”. A selection of bowls containing a mix of sweet toppings such as sprinkles, mini smarties, rainbow drops, fudge, flakes etc and a selection of sauces such as salted caramel, strawberry, chocolate, bubblegum. Guests can “pimp their ice creams” themselves and add their own toppings.
Our sweet carousel is classy and a tad unusual. It’s a beautiful metal carousel that is really quite ornate. There are several pots and each pot will contain a selection of retro sweets. We will provide some cones/paper bags and definitely some tongs! Again guests can help themselves to some sweets throughout the day.
Mason Jars We will provide a couple of large mason jars which can be filled with water or water and cordial, ice, lemons, oranges and some plastic cups so your guests can remain hydrated throughout the day.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
So, in order to enter we do have a few things we ask of you so have laid out a few terms and conditions below to protect both you and us.
You must have had a wedding booked which has had to be moved due to the pandemic.
Entry is via Facebook only. You must like the page, like the post, share the post and tag yourself or your partner in the post.
We will need to know the date and location of the wedding BUT…. please don’t post this in the facebook post and share it with everyone. Please send this information in a private message so it’s not public for all to see! We need to check we have the date available and work out logistics/distance if you win!
As we are providing the items for free, we would like to take some photographs of the items in situ so that we can use them on social media. Entry assumes that if you win, you are ok with our using those images. If your photographer takes any photos then we would ask that they share those images where our items are displayed so we can use them on our website, social media etc. We will happily credit the photographer and provide a link to their page on our social media but we will not purchase or pay for any professional photographs we use for future promotion of our hire items.
One lucky couple will receive the above. which we will deliver to your venue, set up where required and then collect it at the end of the day.
A further 10 couples will receive the sweet carousel worth £150.00. With this you’ll need to arrange for someone to come collect this and return to us the next day. If you haven’t got anyone available to do that then we can deliver it to your venue, set it up and collect later on but we will need to charge a small fee to cover the additional time/travel costs incurred.
With all prizes we will have to ask for you to provide a security deposit. This is normal practice for all our hires and will also apply for this competition. This is to ensure that everything is returned and is in the same condition as when we provided it. The deposit will be placed in a holding account. We collect the items (or for the 10 x prize of the sweet carousel or ice cream freezer once returned), and inspect them for damage. If all is returned and ok then the deposit is returned to you, in full, within 24 hours. If there is any damage, or an item is not returned, then the cost of repair/replacement will be taken from the security deposit and any balance returned to you.
