Back in 2019 Toot Sweets & Co was contacted by a film company to provide tea, coffee, spiced chai, hot chocolates and cake, lots and lots of cake, lots and lots and lots of cake, to the cast and crew.
The Pale Horse, a BBC Drama was being filmed in Central Bristol by the Bristol Hippodrome and the old Ice Skating Rink.
We only had the call the day before but were able to provide over 20 different styles of cake, muffins, cupcakes, traybakes and chocolate brownies for all diets; vegan and gluten free included.
We arrived in the daytime to set up the vintage van. Now this beauty doesn’t have an engine so we have to tow her to events on a flatbed trailer. Luckily the mastermind and driver was able to get us onsite and set up within 20 minutes of arriving and we were left to prepare the inside and display all the cakes ready for opening time.
It was an evening shoot and the cast and filmcrew had been at it since early morning so they all deserved a treat.
We were certainly kept busy for the duration of the evening and only a handful of cakes was left over by the end of service.
It was great to get such fab feedback on the quality of our barista coffee (which we know is pretty damn good) and the crew and cast definitely loved the medium roast blend, the hot chocolates with cream, chocolate flake and mallows as well as a steady stream of teas.
At the end of service we tidied away and left the area as we found it, leaving a happy team of workers who had their fill of all the goodies we could provide them with.
If you are looking for a reliable and quality coffee and cake van for your next event – get in contact. We’d love to hear from you.
